La-Paz Garden Cricket Club clinch title GCA A Division State Final
Panaji: In the Goa Cricket Association–organised ‘A’ Division All Goa State final, La-Paz Garden Cricket Club registered a one-sided 137-run victory over Sunny Sports Club to lift the title. In the match played on Sunday at the GCA Academy ground in Porvorim, La-Paz Garden scored 282 for 8 in 45 overs. In reply, Sunny Sports Club were bowled out for 145 runs in 34 overs while chasing the massive target.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, La-Paz Garden Cricket Club made a steady start. Sumiran Amonkar played a fine knock of 77 runs off 85 balls, while Jaipal Mada provided valuable support with 59 runs off 63 balls. The pair stabilised the innings and increased the scoring rate. In the middle order, Sohrab Dhaliwal played a blistering innings of 54 runs off 43 balls, accelerating the run flow in the final overs. Sagar Solanki added 21 runs as La-Paz Garden posted a formidable 282 for 8 in 45 overs.
Sunny Sports Club began well while chasing 283 runs. Jeevan Chittem (23) and Vikas Shetty (11) scored quickly, but wickets fell at regular intervals in the middle order. Captain Aryan Narvekar was dismissed for 9 runs. Shantanu Nevagi fought with 29 runs, while Moh Huz scored 16, but the mounting required run rate increased pressure, and the team was eventually bowled out for 145 in 34 overs. In bowling, Ramnath Gaonkar delivered an accurate spell, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs in 9 overs. Sohrab Dhaliwal claimed 2 wickets for just 12 runs in 5 overs, breaking the opposition’s backbone. Sagar Solanki also picked up 2 wickets.
