Shree Damodar School Clinches Tennis Ball Cricket Title
Panaji: Shree Damodar Vidyalaya English High School emerged as the state champions in the Under-14 tennis ball cricket tournament at the Mini Secondary School Sports organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs. In the final played at Campal, Panaji on Friday, they defeated Shrimati High School by eight wickets.
Batting first, Shrimati High School scored 45 runs in the allotted 6 overs. Sai contributed 8 runs, Sathvir scored 14, while Tanishq added 14 runs to the total. The bowlers of Shree Damodar Vidyalaya delivered an accurate performance, restricting the opposition from posting a big score. Ansh claimed two wickets, while Usman Ghani picked up one.
Chasing the target, Shree Damodar Vidyalaya played sensibly and reached 46 runs to seal the victory. Usman Ghani provided a steady start with 10 runs, while captain Rumaan Mulam played a crucial unbeaten knock of 27 runs. Ihtesham also remained unbeaten on 8, ensuring the team’s win. Tanishq, Soham and Sai tried their best with the ball, but the small target left them with little opportunity for success.
