Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo Pushes for Sanitation Toilet Facility at Vagator Beach
Siolim : Efforts to improve public convenience at Vagator Beach have gained momentum, with a joint inspection of the proposed site for a new toilet facility conducted near the beach. The inspection was carried out on the initiative of Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo, alongside Mr. Vishad Pole, Executive Engineer, GTDC, Sarpanch Surendra Govekar and Panch Members of Village Panchayat Anjuna-Caisua. Officials assessed the site for feasibility, accessibility and drainage, with a focus on taking necessary steps towards improving public convenience and providing better facilities for visitors to Vagator Beach. Vagator is one of North Goa’s busiest beaches, drawing domestic tourists and international visitors throughout the season.
The lack of a clean and accessible public toilet has been a recurring concern for beachgoers, local vendors and women visitors in particular .MLA Delilah Lobo has been stressing the need for improved tourist infrastructure in the constituency, and the proposed toilet facility is seen as a key step in that direction. Once constructed, the facility is expected to improve beach hygiene, reduce pressure on nearby establishments and enhance the overall visitor experience. The joint inspection signals a coordinated push between the Siolim constituency, GTDC and the village panchayat to resolve the issue before the peak tourist season.
