Goa Hosts National Brainstorm on Thyroid: CM Sawant Inaugurates ‘THYROID 360°’ at Sankhali
Bicholim : Thyroid disorders, often called a silent lifestyle epidemic, took centre stage in Goa on Saturday. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated ‘THYROID 360°’, a National Seminar on Thyroid Disorders, organised by the Goa Ayurvedic Medical Association with the support of Government of Goa at Sai Nursing Institute, Sankhali.
The seminar brought together Ayurvedic experts, allopathic doctors, researchers and students to discuss a holistic, 360-degree approach to thyroid management – from early detection to long-term treatment.
Speaking at the inaugural, the Chief Minister said that thyroid cases are rising rapidly, especially among women, due to changing lifestyle, stress and dietary habits.
He stressed the need to blend the wisdom of Ayurveda with modern medicine to provide affordable and sustainable solutions.‘ THYROID 360°’ will focus on topics like hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid’s link with obesity, infertility and mental health, and the role of diet, yoga and Ayurvedic therapies in management.
