“NOW JOURNALISTS TOO ARE NOT SAFE UNDER BJP RULE; CM MUST ENSURE JUSTICE FOR ASSAULTED REPORTER”: AMARNATH PANJIKAR
PANAJI, OCTOBER 11, 2026: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Media Department Chairman Amarnath Panjikar strongly condemned the alleged assault on In Goa 24×7 reporter Saiprasad Kubde in Siolim and questioned the BJP Government’s commitment to the safety of journalists.
“Journalists are the fourth pillar of democracy. If reporters are attacked while performing their duties, how can the freedom of the press be protected? Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant must ensure a swift and impartial investigation and strict action against those responsible. An attack on a journalist is an attack on democracy and the public’s right to know. The government must ensure that journalists can work without fear or intimidation,” Panjikar said.
He demanded accountability from the government and urged the police to take immediate action in the case.
