PORVORIM: October 1: A man who served the state as a managing director of Goa Meat Complex Ltd,(Usgao-Ponda) and dairy manager of Goa State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union,
(Ponda) in the past has remained wrapped up despite of eight books published in the most richest language of our country ie. Urdu.
Urdu is the second official language in the northern Indian states, namely Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It is also spoken in many other states in the Indian Federation from North to south.
India has produced many Urdu writers in the Muslim, Hindu and Sikh communities and most and well known personalutied like Maithaly Sharan Gupta, Firaq Gorakhpuri (Raghupati Sahay) and others.
After retirement, Dr Abdus Sami popularly known amongst his friends °Dr Sami” has jotted down seven books and eight one is on the verge of publication.
This feat he has achieved by confining himself in the four walls of his room in the house. He has devoted and dedicated his time only to read urdu literature through magazined and other journals being published from Delhi and other states and write books.
“Upon asking what inspired him to pen down his thoughts, he replied, the first ex- Vice Chancellor of Goa University, Dr. B Shaikh Ali, he also advised him to read and write in urdu language.
Besides Dr Ali, the Editor of Urdu Science monthly magazine, being published from New Delhi, Dr Aslam Parvez urged him to contribute articles towards his magazine.
Dr Aslam Parvez, who also served as Vice Chancellor of ( MANUU) Moulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad.
“My articles on Urdu Science monthly magazine were being published in New Delhi. But of late I am feeling weak due to health issues, I cannot concentrate neither on reading nor on writing” he informed. “After getting inspiration from both these literally stalwarts, I felt like serving Urdu language. I started my journey as a writer and till date I have pen down eight books on General Knowledge topics and Islamic teachings in Urdu language which has good response and acceptance amongst Urdu language lovers and readers in India.” he revealed.
Books entitled (1)” SABZ HASHIA” ( green boundary),(2) GOSHT KHORI Se GULABI INQUILAB TAK (From Pink Revolution to Meat Consumption),(3)Alami General Knowledge (global general knowledge) ,(4)ADADI MALOOMAT Ka ENCYCLOPEDIA (From zero to infinity) (5) GOA GUMGASHTA TALASH ( discovery of Goa),(6)MARIFAT -e-QUR’ANI (spiritual insights through Qura’nic Animals, (7) NOORANI GENERAL KNOWLEDGE (Illuminated Spiritual general knowledge), besides these one more book is on the road to publication ie (8) ROSHAN NAQOOSH( Illuminated inspiration) He is gifted with four sons and two daughters. All are well educated and technically qualified engineers.Two sons are abroad while two of them are in Goa. Daughter Dr Sabiha Shahnaz did her MBBS from Goa Medical College and her other sister is a Pharmacist. Dr Sabiha did her further post graduation DNB in Bangalore.Thereafter she went to United Kingdom and continued her studies further and completed MRCOG (London) and MRGP (London).The books written covering General Knowledge,Science and Islamic teachings and thoughts “KADAM Se QALAM” tak is for all generation and to serve as a link with past and present generation with the Generation Z (GEN. Z).
