Underground Corridor to Transform Calangute Beach Stretch; Lobo Reviews GSIDC Works
Calangute: Calangute MLA Michael Lobo on Tuesday inspected the ongoing underground utility corridor works from the Calangute Village Panchayat towards Calangute Beach, along with Calangute Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira and other officials and dignitaries. Lobo reviewed the progress of the underground electrical and internet cabling, drainage and water pipeline works being undertaken through the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC). He discussed the remaining works with the concerned officials, emphasising quality, timely completion and minimal inconvenience to residents, businesses and visitors.
“Our aim is to provide Calangute with modern, well-planned infrastructure while improving the overall appearance and accessibility of this important stretch,” Lobo said during the inspection.
The project aims to clear overhead wiring clutter and provide seamless utilities along the key tourist corridor leading to Calangute Beach, enhancing both aesthetics and safety.
