MLA MICHAEL LOBO LEADS SWACHH SAGAR DRIVE AT CANDOLIM BEACH
Candolim, Goa -Calangute MLA Michael Lobo participated in the Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar (SSSS-26) Beach Cleaning Drive held at Candolim Beach on Saturday, joining officials, volunteers and local citizens in a collective effort for cleaner beaches and a healthier marine environment.
The drive, which saw enthusiastic public participation, focused on collection of plastic waste and litter from the shoreline, spreading awareness on responsible waste management, waste segregation and protection of the coastline.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Michael Lobo said that for a coastal state like Goa, protecting beaches is not only an environmental responsibility but also essential for livelihoods, tourism and future generations. He appealed to citizens, tourists and stakeholders to join hands to keep Goa’s coastline clean and beautiful.
The vision and sustained efforts of the Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi in strengthening the spirit of Swachh Bharat and taking cleanliness beyond streets and villages to beaches and oceans was commended on the occasion.
