83,800 Diamonds, 24-Carat Gold: Hyderabad Jeweller’s Ganesha Idol Stuns Devotees
HYDERABAD – A 24-carat gold-plated Lord Ganesha idol studded with 3,83,800 American diamonds has become the centre of attraction in Hyderabad this Ganesh Chaturthi.The dazzling idol has been installed at Lichi Pearl Set Jewels in Begum Bazar, drawing large crowds of devotees and onlookers. the , organiser Adhar Agarwal said this is the store’s third year of installing a Ganesha idol, but this year they wanted to do something special.”We have created this 24-carat gold-plated Lord Ganesha idol. We have been installing idols for the past two years, and this is our third year. With Lord Ganesha’s blessings, we commissioned this beautiful idol,” he said.The idol is made of brass using five different metals. The design is intricate – the back arch depicts the Dasavataram, with Lord Balaji at the top and Goddesses Saraswati and Lakshmi on the sides.Agarwal said the same materials used for their fashion jewellery were used for the idol to give it a jewellery touch. “It is completely studded with 3,83,800 American diamonds. Each stone has been hand-fitted. Eight workers worked day and night for eight months to complete it,” he added.
