Mapusa – In a proactive step to ensure a safe Ganesh Chaurthi , the Mapusa Fire Station on saturday conducted a fire safety demonstration at the firecracker stalls in Mapusa Market. 
Fire officials demonstrated the proper handling and operation of fire extinguishers, with vendors getting hands-on training to tackle any emergency. The vendors were briefed on initial response measures and the need to keep safety equipment accessible at all times.
Officials said the annual pre-Ganesh Chaurthi is crucial given the highly inflammable nature of the material and the heavy footfall at the market.
