Goa’s First Hindi National Satellite Channel Rashtra TV Marks Official Launch on TATA PLAY

“Rashtra TV Will Serve as ‘The Voice of India’ with Responsible Journalism,” Says CM Dr. Pramod Sawant

Panaji, September 9, 2026: Goa marked a significant milestone in its media landscape with the launch of Rashtra TV, the State’s first Hindi national satellite channel, on the TATA PLAY DTH platform today. The channel’s new office in Panaji hosted the launch, marking its expansion to audiences across the country.

Marking the beginning of its national broadcast journey, Rashtra TV will serve as “The Voice of India,” with a focus on credible, responsible and public-interest-driven Hindi journalism. During the launch, CM Dr. Pramod Sawant interacted with the Rashtra TV team and visited its studio, office and broadcasting facilities, reviewing the infrastructure established to support the channel’s national broadcast operations.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “It is a proud moment for Goa to be home to a channel that will serve as ‘The Voice of India’, bringing credible, responsible and public-interest-driven journalism to millions of households across the nation.” He congratulated the Rashtra TV and Apex Mediaweb teams on the landmark milestone and expressed confidence that Goa’s presence in national media would continue to grow stronger.

The launch programme was attended by Shri Gautam Kharangate, CEO, Apex Mediaweb Private Limited, and Shri Sandeep Kerkar, Editor-in-Chief, Rashtra TV, along with members of the Rashtra TV team and representatives from the media fraternity.
