Goa Tighten Grip, KSCA XI Seven Down
Panaji: Goa finished their first innings at 338 runs and reduced KSCA President’s XI to 7 for 210 after 72 overs on the second day of their four-day match in the Dr. (Capt.) K. Thimmappiah Memorial Cricket Tournament organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). Goa now has a strong opportunity to take a substantial first-innings lead. The match is being played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Resuming their innings at 281 for 7, Goa quickly lost Amulya Pandrekar (3) and Ruthvik Naik (5) on the second day, leaving them at 290 for 9. Yash Kasvankar (38) and last man Vijesh Prabhudesai (14 not out) then added 48 runs for the final wicket. The partnership was broken when Kasvankar was run out, and Goa were bowled out for 338 in 102.2 overs.
KSCA President’s XI made a poor start. Ritvik Naik dismissed openers Prakhar Chaturvedi (4) and captain Shrijith (4), reducing the hosts to 31 for 2. Dhruv and Shubhang Hegde took the score to 97 before the team began losing wickets at regular intervals. Opener Aneesh K.V. top-scored with 76, while Anvay Dravid, son of former India Test cricketer Rahul Dravid, contributed 43.
For Goa, Ruhvik Naik, Amulya Pandrekar and Lalit Yadav claimed two wickets each, while Vasuki Koushik took one wicket.
