Christou wins 100m backstroke race at European Championship
Swimmer Apostolos Christou won gold at the 100m backstroke race at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris on Sunday.
With a timing of 52.27, he preceded by 1 second silver medallist Thomas Ceccon (Italy) who was timed at 52.28, and bronze winner Pavel Samusenko (Neutral/Russia) at 52.57.
It is the second time Christou becomes a European champion at 100m backstroke, the first being in Belgrade two years ago.
