Shiv Sena (Shinde) to Contest 21 Seats in Goa Assembly Elections: Gajanan Kirtikar

Ponda: Shiv Sena (Shinde) faction Goa State Sampark Pramukh and senior leader Gajanan Kirtikar has announced that the party will contest 21 seats in the upcoming Goa Assembly elections.
Speaking after inaugurating the Shiv Sena (Shinde) office at Tisk, Ponda, Kirtikar said party surveys indicate a favourable opportunity in Goa and expressed confidence that the party can emerge as a strong alternative to the ruling BJP.
Kirtikar alleged that the BJP government has failed on several fronts, including employment, crime control, land conversion, tourism, power generation and protection of Goa’s identity. He claimed that unemployment and crime have increased while the tourism sector has declined.
He also criticised the frequent switching of parties by MLAs elected on Congress tickets, saying such defections have weakened public confidence in political parties. According to Kirtikar, Shiv Sena can offer the people of Goa a “clean and efficient” alternative.
Clarifying the party’s electoral strategy, Kirtikar said that although Shiv Sena is in an alliance with the BJP in Maharashtra, the arrangement does not apply to other states. He stated that Shiv Sena will therefore contest the Goa Assembly elections independently.
Kirtikar further expressed confidence that Shiv Sena would be able to form an effective government in Goa and said the party is confident of victory this time.
He also said that the political dispute between the Thackeray and Shinde factions is now a matter of the past.
Shiv Sena leaders Subhash Sawant, Raju Pednekar, Dilip Naik and Girish Lotlikar, Goa State Chief Upendra Gavkar, District Chiefs Surendra Valvaikar, Kashinath Mayekar and Suhas Khandilkar, along with other party workers, were present at the programme.
