80 KW Solar Power Project Commissioned at Agassaim; Union Minister Shripad Naik Inaugurates
Panaji: Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India, Shri Shripad Naik, inaugurated an 80 KW On-Grid Solar Power Project at the Department of Drinking Water Pumping Station, Agassaim, on Friday .
The project aims to promote sustainable and renewable energy use in government infrastructure and reduce dependence on conventional power sources.
The solar plant installed at the pumping station is expected to significantly bring down electricity consumption and operational costs, while contributing to the government’s green energy mission.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said that the Central Government is committed to promoting solar energy across the country under the National Solar Mission, and such projects in Goa will help the state move towards energy self-reliance.He also highlighted that harnessing solar power for essential services like drinking water supply is a step towards sustainable development and environmental protection.Officials from the Department of Drinking Water and the Department of New & Renewable Energy were present on the occasion.
