Goa Medical College gets Advanced Medical Simulation Centre
PANAJI: (Aug 17) A newly inaugurated Advanced Medical Simulation Centre (AMSC) at the Goa Medical College (GMC) will strengthen skill-based medical education, clinical preparedness and patient safety, state health minister Vishwajit Rane said on Monday.
Rane, in a post said the facility is equipped with high-fidelity patient simulators, full-body clinical mannequins, virtual reality-based simulation systems, ultrasound and diagnostic simulators, besides dedicated facilities for surgical, procedural and critical-care training.
The simulators can reproduce real clinical signs such as breathing, pulse and blood pressure, allowing doctors, nurses and healthcare workers to practise clinical assessment and emergency response in a controlled environment before attending to real patients, he said.
