“Political Parties Briefed on EVM-VVPAT First Level Checking in North Goa; Transparency Emphasized”

Panaji: A meeting with the representatives of recognized political parties was held at the Collectorate, North Goa, Panaji, under the chairmanship of the Collector & District Election Officer, North Goa, Ankit Yadav, IAS, in connection with the forthcoming First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VVPATs in North Goa District.

The meeting was attended by representative of RGP  Viresh Borkar, representative of BJP; ; Pundalik Raut Dessai, and representative of INC E. Altinho Gomes,.Director of Higher Education  Bhushan Savaikar,  and Nodal Officer for EVMs & VVPATs, and Assistant Nodal Officer for EVMS & VVPATS,Abhijeet Nikam,   were also present.

The Collector & DEO briefed the representatives on the FLC process, prescribed procedures, rules and safeguards of the Election Commission of India

. A presentation on the FLC process and related guidelines was made by Shri Safal Shetye, Deputy Collector (Elections), North Goa. The meeting emphasized transparency and strict adherence to the prescribed procedures during the FLC exercise.
