SALIGAO: Saligao MLA convened a meeting to discuss the installation of traffic signals at Verem, near Reis Magos Panchayat, aimed at improving road safety and ensuring smoother traffic movement for commuters.The meeting focused on addressing traffic congestion and accident risks at the busy Verem junction, which connects key routes in the area.
The meeting was attended by PI Traffic, Porvorim, Tulshidas Naik, Prabhot Bhagat, AE (Roads), and Udhav Mulgaonkar, TA (Roads) from the PWD. Also present were Reis Magos Sarpanch Sushmita Pednekar, Panchayat Secretary Peter Martins, and Panch members Naina Naik, Subhash Pednekar, Sangeeta Bhonsle, Gauri Pednekar, Umesh Mayekar, Xavier Rebeiro, Prasanna Nagvekar, along with Shri Shailendra Parulekar. Officials discussed the feasibility, technical requirements, and timeline for installing the traffic signals. The proposal received support from panchayat members and traffic officials who stressed the need for better traffic regulation at the junction to ensure commuter safety.
