Free Gomantak Bhajani Workshop in Verem Promote Goa’s Traditional Music
Saligao; A Gomantak Traditional Bhajani Workshop was inaugurated at the Shri Saraswati Temple Auditorium on , aimed at training young students in Goa’s devotional music tradition.
The workshop was inaugurated by MLA Kedar Naik in the presence of Sushmita Subhash Pednekar, Sarpanch, VP Reis Magos; Subhash Gopal Pednekar and Naina Naik, Panchas; S Umesh Mayekar and local residents.
Speaking at the event, MLA Naik appreciated the efforts of Pandurang Raul (Guruji), Nishikant Kalangutkar, Machur Mahale and organisers Sanjay Gopal Sarvankar, Gorakh Mandrekar and Shekhar Shetye for running the free workshop to nurture young talent. “Our cultural heritage is our greatest strength. Initiatives like this ensure that traditions like Bhajani continue to inspire future generations,” MLA Naik said.
Organisers said the workshop will provide free training to students and help preserve and promote the Gomantak Bhajani tradition across Bardez.
