42 NCC Cadets Participate in Kargil Vijay Diwas Drawing and Painting Competition at Mapusa
Mapusa, July 20, 2026: To commemorate the 27th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Ex-NCC Cadets
Association–Goa, in collaboration with Janata High School, Mapusa, organised a Drawing and Painting Competition for Junior Division NCC Cadets on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at Shri Raghunath Anant Tople Sabhagruha, Mapusa.
The competition aimed to instill patriotism, national pride and creative expression among school students while paying tribute to the courage, sacrifice and valour of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War.
The competition was conducted under the themes:
Kargil Vijay Diwas – Courage and Patriotism
Bravery and Sacrifice
Heroes of Kargil – Patriotism and Peace
A total of 42 NCC cadets representing seven schools from Bardez Taluka enthusiastically participated in the event. The participating schools were:
Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa
St. Britto’s High School, Mapusa
Dnyanprasarak High School, Mapusa
G.S. Amonkar Vidyalaya High School, Mapusa
Dattaram Mantravadi High School, Mapusa
Dr. Ambedkar High School, Mapusa
Janata High School, Mapusa
On behalf of the Ex-NCC Cadets Association–Goa, Shri Pradeep Sawant welcomed the participants and briefed them on the rules and guidelines of the competition.
Headmaster Shri Datta Shirodkar thanked the heads of the participating schools for their wholehearted support and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the NCC cadets. He also acknowledged the valuable assistance of ANO Shri Kripesh Vengurlekar, whose efforts contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the programme.
Association member Ms. Laxmi Parab was also present on the occasion.
The organisers informed that the results of the Drawing and Painting Competition will be announced shortly.
The programme formed part of the Ex-NCC Cadets Association–Goa’s series of activities to mark Kargil Vijay Diwas, honouring the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in defence of the nation and inspiring the younger generation to uphold the ideals of patriotism, discipline and national service.
