Ferreira joins Mulgao Wari, seeks Lord Vittal’s blessings
MAPUSA: Aldona MLA Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira joined devotees of the Mulgao Varkari Sanstha on its Wari to Pandharpur for Ashadhi Ekadashi, walking alongside devotees and offering prayers to Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini.
The Pandharpur Wari is an annual, sacred foot pilgrimage to Pandharpur, Maharashtra, honouring Lord Vitthal. Thousands of devotees from all over Goa, travelling in organised groups walk hundreds of kilometres over 14 to 17 days to reach the temple for Ashadhi Ekadashi.
Ferreira prayed for peace, prosperity, good health and social harmony in Goa and the country, while extending his best wishes to all Varkaris undertaking the sacred pilgrimage.
“Being part of the sacred ‘Wari’ has been a truly blessing experience. This journey is a revered tradition that embodies faith, humility, and unity. Witnessing the profound devotion of the pilgrims was incredibly inspiring, showcasing an unwavering spiritual dedication that has sustained this centuries-old tradition,” he said.
