Firefighters Prevent Mishap After Tree Uproots Near Mayura Hotel, Mapusa

MAPUSA: A major mishap was averted on Tuesday evening after personnel from the Mapusa Fire Station responded swiftly to an uprooted tree that was leaning dangerously near Mayura Hotel at Morod, Mapusa. The incident was reported at 16:47 hrs, with the tree partially uprooted and at risk of falling onto the road. A team led by Leading Firefighter Ranjeet Gaonkar rushed to the spot and carried out the operation to safely cut and remove the tree, clearing the risk to pedestrians and vehicular traffic in the busy Morod area. Fire officials said the timely intervention prevented possible damage to property and ensured public safety. No injuries or disruption to power lines were reported. The Mapusa Fire Station has urged citizens to report leaning or uprooted trees during monsoon, especially in crowded localities, to avoid accidents.
