Manipal Hospitals Goa celebrates Doctors’ Day, honours medical fraternity
Panaji: Manipal Hospitals Goa marked Doctors’ Day with a special celebration to honour the unwavering commitment, compassion and selfless service of its doctors towards providing quality healthcare.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Surendra Prasad, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospitals Goa, extended his appreciation to the doctors for their dedication and tireless efforts in delivering exceptional patient care. He acknowledged their invaluable contribution in improving lives and reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to supporting its medical professionals with world-class infrastructure and a patient-centric environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Senior Consultant – Surgical Oncology, Manipal Hospitals Goa, reflected on this year’s Doctors’ Day theme, “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?” He said the theme highlights the often-overlooked well-being of healthcare professionals and serves as a reminder that while doctors, nurses and other medical staff dedicate themselves to caring for patients, they too face significant mental, emotional and physical challenges that deserve attention. Dr. Salkar emphasised that healthy healthcare workers are essential for delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality patient care, adding that caring for those who care for others ultimately benefits patients, families and society as a whole. He also encouraged fellow doctors to continue serving with empathy, integrity and excellence while ensuring they prioritise their own well-being.

As part of the celebrations, a cake-cutting ceremony was held for all the doctors. The cake was generously sponsored by Cidade Group as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation for the dedication and invaluable service rendered by the medical fraternity.
The celebration concluded with the hospital management expressing heartfelt gratitude to all the doctors for their relentless commitment to patient care and for making a positive difference in the lives of countless patients and their families.
