South Goa Admin Gears Up: Collector Chairs Meeting to Ensure Smooth NEET (UG) Conduct
A meeting was chaired by Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, South Goa (H/c Kushavati District), to review preparedness for the upcoming NEET (UG) Examination, in the presence of Shri Tikam Singh Verma, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Goa (H/c Kushavati District).
The meeting was attended by the SDMs, DySP, PI Vasco, Principals and teachers of PM SHRI KV No. 1 and KV No. 2, KV Ponda, representatives from NIT Cuncolim, Assistant Director (DTE), officials from NIC, Electricity, Transportation Department, Medical Officers, and representatives of the UHC.

Detailed discussions were held to ensure the smooth, secure, and successful conduct of the examination. It was informed that Sector Magistrates have been appointed to assist the Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) during the examination process.
The Chair emphasized that emergency medical services and healthcare assistance must be readily available at all examination centres from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the examination period was also directed. Special arrangements for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), including wheelchair accessibility and allocation of examination rooms on accessible floors, were stressed.
It was further directed that first-level sensitization and coordination meetings be conducted by the SDMs, SDPOs, and Mamlatdars one day prior to the examination. Members of the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) shall be appointed as observers for the NEET examination and shall be issued proper identity cards.
To facilitate candidates, bus services will be arranged for transportation, and adequate publicity regarding the availability of such services will be undertaken.Installation of biometric verification systems and CCTV cameras at all examination centres was mandated. Secure escort arrangements for the transportation of question paper trunks were also discussed. Traffic management arrangements shall be ensured in accordance with law to facilitate smooth movement of candidates and examination personnel.
Separate frisking arrangements for male and female candidates shall be ensured. Frisking, registration, and biometric verification of candidates shall be conducted strictly as per NTA guidelines and instructions. Adequate strong room facilities shall be arranged, along with proper sheds, drinking water facilities, seating arrangements, and ventilation for candidates to ensure their comfort and convenience.
