Joshua DeSouza Explores Chandigarh’s Heritage, Architectural Legacy During Visit
Mapusa: Mapusa MLA Joshua Dsouza had the opportunity to visit some of Chandigarh’s most iconic landmarks, including Mata Mansa Devi Mandir, a revered centre of faith and devotion, the Le Corbusier Centre, which preserves the legacy of the renowned architect who played a pivotal role in shaping Chandigarh’s iconic design, the Chandigarh Capitol Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site symbolising democratic governance and architectural excellence, Panjab University, one of India’s premier institutions of higher learning, and Gandhi Bhawan, an institution dedicated to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and intellectual discourse.

The visit offered valuable insights into the ideas and values that have shaped Chandigarh’s distinctive identity. Such engagements provide an opportunity to appreciate the institutions, heritage and civic vision that continue to contribute to India’s progress and nation-building.
