Coach of train parked in Goa’s Madgaon yard catches fire, doused; no one hurt
PANAJI: (May 29) A coach of a stabled train caught fire at a yard near Madgaon on the Konkan Railway network on Friday, though no one was hurt since it was empty, an official said.
The blaze started around 2:50pm and was brought under control some time later by fire and emergency services, Konkan Railway Corporation Limited deputy general manager Baban Ghatge told reporters.
“It is a second class luggage coach, which is usually used by the guard. There was no one in the coach so no one was hurt. A inquiry will follow to ascertain the cause of fire and extent of damage,” he informed.
