Ox Falls into Ditch at Sirsaim, Tivim; Mapusa Fire Team Rescues Animal

Mapusa: An ox that fell into a ditch near Tivim railway station was safely rescued by Mapusa Fire Services in the early hours of Wednesday.The incident was reported at 01:02 hrs from Siraim, Tivim. A team from Mapusa Fire Station led by Leading Firefighter Vishnu Gawas rushed to the spot.Fire personnel assessed the ditch and used ropes and rescue equipment to pull the animal out without injury. The operation was completed swiftly despite poor visibility at night.“The ox was distressed but unhurt. We secured it and lifted it out carefully,” said Leading Firefighter Vishnu Gawas. The animal was handed over to locals after the rescue.
