AIFF makes last-minute addition of five players for Unity Cup, trying for fast-tracking of visas

NEW DELHI: (May 24) The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has made a last-minute addition of five players to the national team for the Unity Cup in London, starting on May 27, after Mohun Bagan Super Giants pulled out all of their seven members from the preliminary squad.

An 18-member team, sans the Mohun Bagan players, has left for London early Sunday morning and the AIFF is trying to fast-track the visas of the five players.

If the five players do not get their visas by Monday, it could be difficult for them to be available for the first match against Jamaica on Wednesday.
