Sanskar Bharati Goa Prant Holds Paschim Kshetra Prashikshan Varg; CM Sawant Inaugurates
PONDA, Aug 30, 2026 — Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Saturday inaugurated the Paschim Kshetra Prashikshan Varg organised by Sanskar Bharati Goa Prant at Ponda. The three-day residential training camp has drawn participants from the western region, including Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Daman-Diu. The Varg focuses on training karyakartas in Indian art forms, cultural values, and organisational skills through workshops on music, dance, theatre, literature, and visual arts.Addressing the gathering, CM Sawant said Sanskar Bharati plays a crucial role in preserving and promoting Bharatiya culture and sanskars among the youth. “In an era of rapid globalisation, institutions like Sanskar Bharati ensure that our next generation stays rooted in Indian traditions while contributing to a ‘Viksit Goa, Viksit Bharat’,” he said.
He assured government support for cultural initiatives that strengthen national identity.The inaugural function was attended by Nagesh Devasthan, Nageshi, President Sanjay Priolkar; Sanskar Bharati Goa President Dr. Bhushan Bhave; Akhil Bharatiya Manchiy Kala Sanyojak, Sanskar Bharati, Devendra Rawat; and Shree Mahalaxmi Devasthan, Bandora, President Harshad Kamat.Dr. Bhushan Bhave said the Prashikshan Varg aims to create dedicated cultural workers who can take Indian art and values to every village.
Devendra Rawat highlighted Sanskar Bharati’s work across the country in nurturing talent in classical and folk traditions. The Varg will include sessions on stagecraft, folk music, and discussions on the role of art in nation-building
. The program began with lamp lighting, Saraswati Vandana, and a cultural presentation by local artists. The camp will conclude on Monday with a valedictory session and public performance by participants.
