Mapusa MLA Joins Crowd for ZP Chashak 2026 Finale at Assagao

Mapusa: The grand finale of ZP Chashak 2026 was held at the Assagao Panchayat Ground on Monday, drawing large crowds of cricket enthusiasts from across the constituency. The tournament was organised by Siolim Veterans under the leadership of ZP Member Maheshwar Manohar Govekar.The event reflected great enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and community participation, with teams from various panchayat areas competing over the course of the tournament.Chief guests for the finale were Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte.

Also present were Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai, Chairman of Goa State SC & OBC Finance and Development Corporation Ltd. Dayanand Rayu Mandrekar, along with sarpanchs, panch members, organisers, players, and supporters.Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries lauded the efforts of Siolim Veterans for promoting local cricket and fostering community spirit through sport.

ZP Member Govekar said the ZP Chashak aimed to provide a platform for rural talent and bring people together across villages in the Zilla Panchayat constituency.The tournament concluded with the prize distribution ceremony. Organisers thanked all participating teams, sponsors, and supporters for making the event a success.
