DESPITE INJURY, YOUTH GETS WHEELS TO SUPPORT FAMILY; MLA LOBO STEPS IN WITH CSR HELP

Calangute :Wearing a knee brace and standing beside a new grey scooter with an ‘L’ plate, Melroy Dias smiled as Calangute MLA Michael Lobo handed him the keys to his new ride.

The bike, was provided to Melroy under a CSR initiative to help him travel to work independently and support his family with greater ease.

Despite his leg injury, Melroy has been determined to continue working. “I’m happy to support Melroy in his journey of life,” said Lobo, who also urged him to ride safe and go slow, reminding him that his two little children and family wait for him at home.

The MLA wished Melroy good health and strength as he balances recovery, work, and family responsibilities. For Melroy, the scooter means not just mobility, but dignity and a chance to keep providing for his loved ones.The initiative aims to assist locals facing hardship, ensuring transport is not a barrier to livelihood.
