Zinc futures ease on weak demand

NEW DELHI: (Apr 23) Zinc prices on Thursday fell Re 1 to Rs 345.65 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery slipped by Re 1, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 345.65 per kilogram in a business turnover of 294 lots.

Analysts said the trimming of positions by participants, owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly weighed on zinc prices. PTI DR HVA
