Field Staff Equipped for Census Duty in Quepem Rural; Kit Distribution Marks Start of Groundwork
Quepem, April 17 : Preparations for the upcoming Census exercise in Quepem taluka received a major push on Wednesday with the distribution of Census Kits to Supervisors and Enumerators appointed for the Quepem Rural Area.
The distribution signals the commencement of field-level groundwork to ensure comprehensive and accurate enumeration across all villages, wards, and remote habitations under Quepem’s rural jurisdiction. Each kit contains essential material including household schedules, enumerator ID cards, area maps, instruction manuals, stationery, and other tools required for systematic data collection and verification. Officials said the advance handover of kits will enable field teams to study their allotted blocks, coordinate with local Panchayats, and plan coverage of scattered settlements and hilly pockets unique to Quepem’s terrain. Supervisors have been tasked with ensuring strict adherence to Census protocols, while Enumerators were briefed on maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and respectful public interaction during house visits.
The Census exercise is critical for updating demographic, social, and economic data that forms the basis for policy formulation, delimitation, and allocation of welfare schemes. Each Supervisor will oversee a team of Enumerators with clearly demarcated enumeration blocks. A nodal monitoring mechanism has been put in place to address field queries and track daily progress once the actual enumeration begins.
The administration has appealed to residents of Quepem Rural to cooperate with Census staff and provide correct information, assuring that all data will be used solely for statistical purposes and kept confidential under Census Act provisions.
