Goa Rural Livelihood Mission Showcases Local Flavours at G-Food Fest-2026; CM, Poriem MLA Attend
Panaji: April 16: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, along with Poriem MLA Dr. Deviya Rane and other dignitaries,  inaugurated G-Food Fest-2026 at Lok Bhavan, Dona Paula. The festival is organised by the Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission (GSRLM) under the aegis of the Department of Rural Development, Government of Goa. G-Food Fest-2026 aims to provide a direct marketing platform to women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and rural food enterprises incubated under GSRLM  Inaugurating the fest, CM Sawant said the initiative aligns with the government’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Goa’ by linking rural products to urban consumers and building sustainable livelihoods. “G-Food Fest is not just about food. It is about dignity, income, and identity for our rural women entrepreneurs,” he noted, urging people to support local SHG brands.
MLA Dr. Deviya Rane lauded the effort to preserve authentic Goan recipes while creating market access. She interacted with SHG members and highlighted how such platforms build confidence and financial independence among rural women Live demos, cultural performances, and interactive sessions with buyers have been planned to increase footfall and business linkages. Dozens of SHG stalls from Sattari, Sanguem, Canacona, Bardez, and other talukas are participating, offering visitors a taste of hinterland Goa. The event also promotes the Centre’s DAY-NRLM goals of poverty reduction through women’s collectives. G-Food Fest-2026 will remain open to the public at Lok Bhavan, with organisers expecting strong participation from citizens, tourists, and institutional buyers.
