Margao, April 16: In a key preparatory step for the upcoming enumeration exercise in Salcete taluka, Shri Ganesh Barve, Charge Officer, on Wednesday distributed official kits to Supervisors and Enumerators appointed under Margao Municipal Council (MCL) jurisdiction. The distribution marks the formal rollout of field-level preparations for the survey, which aims to ensure accurate and comprehensive data collection across all municipal wards of Margao. The kits, handed over at a brief ceremony, contain essential materials including survey schedules, identity cards, stationery, guidelines, and digital tools required for field verification and data entry.
Addressing the field staff, Shri Barve stressed the importance of accuracy, discipline, and public cooperation during the exercise. He instructed Supervisors to ensure proper training compliance and timely reporting, while Enumerators were briefed on maintaining data integrity and addressing citizen queries courteously.
Supervisors will oversee teams of Enumerators, with each allotted specific blocks/wards to avoid duplication or omission. The administration has appealed to residents of Salcete to extend full cooperation to field staff and provide correct information when approached.
The exercise is part of a larger data-gathering mandate aimed at strengthening planning, governance, and service delivery. Field work is expected to commence shortly after orientation of all appointed staff.
