“Good Friday Observed with Religious Solemnity and Prayer across the State”
Panaji: Good Friday was observed in Goa with solemn processions and enactments marking the crucifixion of Lord Jesus Christ. Churches across the state held special services and rituals, reflecting the day’s significance in Christian tradition.
The observance recalls the events of Golgotha, when Jesus was nailed to the cross and gave his life for humanity’s sins. Followers in Goa meditated on the Seven Last Words, venerated the cross, and participated in the Way of the Cross, reenacting Lord Jesus Christ’s sufferings. Most churches also enacted the poignant moment of Jesus being brought down from the cross, followed by a procession with Lord Jesus in the coffin, evoking emotions and reflection among devotees

. As part of the Easter Triduum, Good Friday draws on a faith tradition that sees Christ’s suffering, death, and resurrection as central to salvation.
