PANAJI; Muslim brothers celebrated Eid Ul Fitr on Saturday with pomp and enthusiasm in Panaji and throughout the state. The Crescent Moon which was sighted on Friday evening marked the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. The end of Ramadan was celebrated with the Eid.
They exchanged hot and most sought after dishes like Sheer Khurma, and Biryani with their neighbourhood non Muslim friends, relatives and muslim brothers.
On Sunday morning devout Muslims in the state gathered at their religious places called Mosques and celebrated Eid by hugging friends and even enemies on the auspicious occasion by sinking political, religious, or personal differences like enmities whether it is business or social and enjoy.
The prayers led by Imams in different mosques of the state urged and appealed to the Muslim brothers to unite instead of remaining fractured or divided themselves in small, small groups regardless of differences in beliefs of one school of thoughts with other school of Thoughts like Shia, Sunni, Tablighi, Ehle Hadees, Jamaat-e Islami adding we are all one and all Muslims following one Almighty Creator, one Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), Qur’ aan and Hadees. They prayed for the end of war in the Middle East and returned to the peace and unity of the Arab world and unity of the global nations for peaceful existence. In the end asking the Creator for forgiveness from the sins we committed till date and urged him to turn a new leaf of the life book and start a new chapter in life of a person whom GOD (Generator Operator and Destroyer) approves.
