“Diarrheal Outbreak South Goa Collector Takes Reins, pushes for Safe Water “
Vasco: Collector South Goa, Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, convened a meeting in the presence of Additional Collector-II, South Goa, Shri Ramesh Gaonkar, regarding the rising diarrheal cases in the Dabolim constituency.
Officers i.e. the Dy. Collector & SDM, Mamlatdar of Mormugao Taluka, representative of the District Hospital, Health Officer-Cortalim, PI–Vasco PS and Secretary, VP attended the meeting.
It was informed that the situation is under control. Water samples from the swimming pool, PWD tank, and tap water from the kitchen were collected and tested and the reports were found to be negative, while samples from the outlet pipe of the garden (STP) and borewell were found to be positive.
PWD has been directed to provide safe drinking water, including mineral water, to the affected residents. The Collector further directed the Mamlatdar, Mormugao to immediately disconnect the water connection from the affected building and ensure close monitoring of the situation. Health authorities have been instructed to promptly attend to any new cases and maintain continuous surveillance.
