GSB Unity Cup 3.0 Blends Sporting Excellence with Social Responsibility
MARGAO: The Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust, organisers of the recently concluded GSB Unity Cup 3.0, once again combined sport with social responsibility, reinforcing its commitment to community welfare.
As part of its charitable initiatives, the Trust extended financial assistance to key community institutions, reaching out to people across all religions and communities. A cheque of ₹32,500 was presented to Aastha’s Anand Niketan, Mapusa, which runs a school for mentally challenged children. Additionally, ₹60,000 was donated to Mahalasa Narayani School, Mardol, which supports the education of needy students.
Speaking on the initiative, the President of the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust Sidhit Raiturkar said, “Through the GSB Unity Cup, our aim goes beyond promoting sports. We are equally committed to giving back to society and supporting institutions that are doing meaningful work at the grassroots level. These contributions are a small step towards making a positive impact across all sections of society.”
Tournament Chief Coordinator Venkat Biche added, “The Unity Cup has always stood for togetherness, both on and off the field. While the tournament showcases sporting talent, initiatives like these reflect our responsibility towards society. We are grateful to be able to support institutions that are making a real difference.”
He further informed that the Trust’s next initiative will be to organise a medical camp in the rural parts of Goa, aimed at providing support and essential healthcare services to the needy.
The GSB Unity Cup 3.0 witnessed enthusiastic participation and community support, further strengthening its position as a platform that blends sportsmanship with social commitment.
