Kingfisher Villa site Probe at Candolim Finds New Illegal Structures, Dune Destruction

Candolim, March 16 – A site inspection has revealed fresh illegal constructions and sand dune destruction at Kingfisher Villa, a beachside property in Candolim, following a complaint by the Calangute Constituency Forum (CCF). The Bardez Block Development Officer led the inspection, uncovering structures built without permissions, including a nearly 2,000 sq meter building, in violation of CRZ rules.

The property, previously owned by Vijay Mallya, had a demolition order issued by Candolim Village Panchayat in June last year, which was stayed by the Directorate of Panchayats. Locals allege the property’s sand dunes have been levelled and a fence erected near the high tide line.
