“The Mapusa Advocates Forum condemns in the strongest terms the physical assault of our advocate colleague, which is presently under investigation by Dhargal/Pernem PS.

We, the advocates, are officers of the Court, and an attack on Adv. Sadanand Vaingankar, while performing his professional duties in the presence of state and police functionaries, is not merely a criminal act but an assault on the justice system and the legal fraternity.

We request an immediate and transparent investigation and proactive measures to ensure the safety of the legal fraternity, including special legislation to protect advocates. We stand in solidarity with Adv. Vaingankar and wish him a speedy recovery.”
