Ferreira urges Goan expats in Middle East for calm, avoid rumours
MAPUSA : Aldona MLA Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira has urged Goans living in the Middle Eastern countries, especially UAE, affected by the Iranian attacks to remain calm, be indoors and follow messages from authenticate sources.
A large number of Goan expatriates live and work in these countries.
“I have seen a message on the social media platform X from the UAE government appealing to the residents not to follow or read messages which are not authentic and which do not come from the officials sources and they have appealed not to rely on any rumours. So it is my appeal, do not panic unnecessarily as this can lead you into multiple complications, perhaps on the wrong path. Avoid going out and make sure you’ll are in safe zones,” he said.
Ferreira expressed solidarity with the Goan brethren in these countries and prayed for their well-being.
“What is going on with Israel and USA attacking Iran and with Iran retaliating to hit the UAE, and the graphic images and videos which we are seeing by Iranian drones is highly disturbing. I am praying that all our Goans as well as Indian brothers and sisters remain safe, and may God protect all of them. Our people are innocent, they have done nothing wrong and they should not be harmed,” he said.
“Definitely we will be praying for you so that all of you are well and this crisis blows over soon. Even though you’ll are far away, miles away from home, we think of you. Our hearts beat for each and every one of you,” he added.
