Mapusa, Goa – In a swift response to two separate incidents, Mapusa fire services battled a fallen jackfruit tree on a house in Koniwada and a tree fire on Colvale Road, Thivim, late Friday evening.
At 17:17 hrs, a jackfruit tree crashed onto a house near the Sports Complex in Koniwada, prompting a prompt response from the fire team led by Suraj Shetgaonkar. The incident was averted without major damage.
Hours later, at 19:25 hrs, a tree caught fire near Dhumaskar Hospital on Colvale Road, Thivim. Sub Officer Dnyaneshwar Sawant and team swiftly extinguished the flames, preventing further damage.
