“Fire Services to the Rescue as fire to dry grass Near ITI Mapusa Contained”

Mapusa, Goa – A fierce grass fire erupted near a transformer behind the District Hospital, sending flames dancing perilously close to the ITI Mapusa premises. The swift response of the Mapusa Fire Department, led by Firefighter Suraj Shetgaonkar, averted a major disaster at 11:39 hrs.

Eyewitnesses describe the scene as “tense”, with thick smoke billowing into the air.

“We heard a loud crackle and saw flames spreading fast. The firefighters were quick to act,” said a local. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but timely intervention prevented damage to the transformer and nearby structures.
