Goa aims to become a premier destination for AI and digital nomads: IT Minister Rohan Khaunte

New Delhi, February 18, 2026: Showcasing Goa’s growing leadership in Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies, Shri. Rohan Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Tourism, Printing & Stationery, Government of Goa, inaugurated the Goa Pavilion at the AI Impact Expo being held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, ahead of the India AI Impact Summit scheduled for February 19-20.

The AI Impact Expo serves as an experiential platform featuring international, state, enterprise and startup pavilions, highlighting cutting-edge innovations and transformative AI solutions. The Goa Pavilion is showcasing the state’s AI initiatives and also featuring five promising startups (DivvyUp and Grow, Frover Labs Pvt. Ltd., Neural Kissan, Kverty and Phosic India Pvt. Ltd.).

The inauguration took place in the presence of Shri. Sanjeev Ahuja, IAS, Secretary, ITE&C, along with Shri. Kabir Shirgaonkar, Director, DITE&C and other senior officials from the department.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Rohan Khaunte, emphasised Goa’s strategic vision to leverage Artificial Intelligence while strengthening its appeal as a Digital Nomad destination. “Under the Goa AI Mission 2027, we are prioritising AI skilling, citizen-centric service delivery and the establishment of a dedicated AI Skilling Centre and Centre of Excellence to drive research and capacity building. Alongside strengthening industry and academia partnerships and our startup ecosystem, we’re shaping Goa into a destination where innovation thrives alongside opportunity and quality of life,” the Minister highlighted.

During his visit, the Minister interacted with startup founders exhibiting at the pavilion and engaged with representatives from the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM), as well as central government bodies and industry leaders. He also held discussions with prominent companies to explore collaborations and attract investment opportunities for the state.

Goa’s participation at the international-level summit underscores the state’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and reinforcing its emergence as a preferred destination for technology innovation and AI-driven enterprises.
