Goa’s Racing Ambition Takes a Pit Stop in Abu Dhabi: CM Sawant’s Visit Sparks F1 Dreams
Panaji: In a bid to propel Goa onto the global motorsport map, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant recently visited the iconic Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, a premier venue for Formula One (F1) racing. This visit comes on the heels of Goa’s successful hosting of the Formula 4 (F4) event, showcasing the state’s growing interest in competitive motorsports
During his trip, Sawant interacted with organisers, reviewing track management systems, safety protocols, spectator facilities, and event logistics. He expressed confidence that observing world-class infrastructure and operational standards would help Goa enhance its own motorsport ecosystem.
“Our objective is to position Goa as a viable future Formula One destination, by following the same step-by-step pathway adopted by successful host cities,” Sawant stated ³.
The CM’s visit is part of a broader engagement aimed at exploring best practices and potential collaborations to boost Goa’s growth in sports and tourism.
