“AAP’s Naik Dragged Out as Panaji Residents’ Casino Protest Turns Fierce”
PANAJI: Police personnel forcibly removed Goa Aam Aadmi Party president Valmiki Naik from the Corporation of City of Panaji conference hall on Thursday. Residents had gathered, demanding a meeting on casinos. When the meeting didn’t happen, they refused to leave, prompting Mayor Rohit Monserratte to call in the police.

Panaji residents sought a ban on Mandovi River casinos and clarity on the Corporation’s stance. Libia Lobo, wife of a freedom fighter, said, “We want to eat fish and the dirt of the casinos,” opposing the casinos.
