Interschool Sports Fiesta 2025 Concludes with Grand Finale at Calangute’s Poriat Ground
CALANGUTE: The Interschool Sports Fiesta 2025 organised by the Village Panchayat Calangute, concluded with an exciting grand finale at the Poriat ground, Calangute, recently.
The event witnessed remarkable participation from young athletes across various schools displaying their talent, determination and sportsmanship.
The competition was spread across four days with various sporting events held at multiple venues. On Day 1, beach football and beach volleyball (boys and girls) was held at West Coast Sports and Cultural Club, Cobravaddo. On Day 2, chess, badminton, table tennis and carrom events were conducted at Calangute Association premises. On Day 3 and 4, futsal, javelin throw, shot put, 100m and 400m races and relays were held at the Poriat ground.

The closing ceremony was graced by Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira and MLA Kedar naik .
Speaking at the event, Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira highlighted the importance of sports in shaping young individuals and promoting teamwork and discipline.
Panch Sapnesh Vaigankar, the main coordinator of the event, thanked all participants, school staff and the organising team for their dedication in making this fiesta a grand success. The Village Panchayat Calangute expresed its gratitude to all schools, athletes, and supporters for making the Inter-School Sports Fiesta 2025 an unforgettable experience. The event truly celebrated the spirit of competition, unity and excellence. The event featured a march past, lighting of the torch, dance performances, and drills by the students, adding grandeur to the final day.
