Saligao Police Nab Auto Theft Suspect, Recover 7 Vehicles in Major Crackdown”

Saligao: Saligao Police Station arrested accused in auto theft case
On 02/02/2026, Saligao Police Station received a complaint from Mr. Ayyan Khan, r/o Ambaji, Fatorda, Salcete, Goa, to the effect that between 31/01/2026 and 02/02/2026, near RG Hospital, Porvorim, Bardez, Goa, an unknown person committed theft of his scooter, make Honda Aviator, bearing Registration No. GA-08-AM-8647, which was parked at an open place. During the course of investigation, PSI Sarvesh Bhandari, HC Vasudev Mahale, HC Vishant Mayekar, PC Tulshidas Gawas, PC Yogesh Teli, PC Rajesh Gawde, PC Manohar Parwar, PC Sheltan Britto and PC Chetan Govekar, under the supervision of PI Milind Bhuimbar of Saligao Police Station, SDPO Porvorim Shri Vishwesh Karpe and SP North Shri Harishchandra Madkaikar, developed information and succeeded in arresting accused Sunil s/o Dinananth Haldankar, age 48 years, r/o Mapusa. The accused has been remanded to four days’ police custody. During the investigation, Saligao Police recovered the stolen Honda Aviator scooter along with six other vehicles, all found in damaged/inoperative condition. It was also revealed that some of the recovered vehicles have been reported stolen at different police stations.
