Dubai Royals to face Pune Panthers in the finals of the World Legends Pro T20 League

Goa, 03 February 2026: The World Legends Pro T20 League will see Dhawan-led Dubai Royals take on Pollard’s Pune Panthers in the finals to be held on 4th February at the 1919 Sportz Stadium in Goa. In the second semi-final of the league, Dubai Royals defeated the league table toppers, Delhi Warriors by 17 runs to seal their spot in the finals.

Dubai Royals were put under early pressure after coming out to bat first in Semi-final 2 against the Delhi Warriors, losing wickets at regular intervals. Shikhar Dhawan once again stood tall, showing remarkable consistency as he picked up from where he left off the previous night. Calm and composed, Dhawan anchored the innings beautifully, bringing up yet another half-century before eventually being dismissed for a well-crafted 71.

Despite Dhawan’s resistance, wickets continued to tumble at the other end, preventing the Royals from building sustained partnerships. Delhi Warriors captain Harbhajan Singh led from the front with two crucial wickets, keeping the contest intense between the two teams. A late flourish from Yusuf Pathan, who smashed a quickfire 34 off just 19 deliveries, provided the much-needed momentum in the death overs and helped Dubai Royals post a total of 192 for 7 at the end of their 20 overs.

Parvez Rasool provided the first breakthrough, with Sreevats departing for 44. This was soon followed by Chadwick Walton being dismissed by Piyush Chawla. In the final five overs, 68 runs were needed, with Pioneer and Sheldon Jackson in the middle. Sheldon Jackson was dismissed soon after.

Piyush Chawla turned the semi-final on its head with a decisive spell that dragged the game firmly in Dubai Royals’ favour. Finishing with 3 for 25 from his four overs, Chawla struck at exactly the moments Delhi Warriors were threatening to break free, ripping through the middle order and killing momentum. His ability to slow the scoring while picking up wickets ensured the pressure never lifted, forcing Delhi into risky shots and poor options. Backed by sharp fielding and disciplined support from the other end, Chawla’s experience became the difference-maker, swinging a high-stakes knockout clash decisively towards the Dubai Royals.

In the first semi-final, Pune Panthers clinched a six-wicket win over Rajasthan Lions in a high-scoring contest in Goa. Angelo Perera top-scored for Rajasthan Lions with an unbeaten 96, while Callum Ferguson provided quick runs in the middle order. For Pune Panthers, DJ Bravo picked up key wickets, while S Shinwari and Robin Uthappa guided the chase with a steady partnership to seal a place in the finals.
